Sure, there will be some variation on the boost clocks of the RTX 3090. The point is that a factory overclocked model could be about as fast as an RTX 3090 @1.7Ghz - That is the boost clock that Nvidia is guaranteeing all RTX 3090s can run at. You *might* get higher than this on the reference model.
We have no way of knowing at this point what the max boost clocks of every RTX 3090 will be.
We can debate about the values of boost clocks all day, and the silicon lottery but the fact above remains.
it's only cause the fastest boosted 3080 so far is 1815 and the fastest 3090 is over 2000. If 3080 boosted as good I would ha e expected to see over 1900 by now. The 3090 will be the much better chips and ha e superior coolingI think the odd thing is many of you are assuming substantially higher boost clocks for the reference RTX 3090. There is a reason Nvidia claims it is 1.7ghz on the flagship 3090, they wouldve put it higher if all of them could achieve it. Hence, I use this number - you can hope for more but it does necessarily not make it so
The higher quality chips that boost significantly higher will be used in the factory overclocked graphics cards, that is what always happens. There is an opportunity to charge a lot more for the factory overclocked models, especially at the top end.

Bios locked clocked speeds you reckon? Won't be the first time they've done this, i mean afterall they share the same board and chip right?except from the leaks so far no AIB is releasing a 3080 faster than 1815 overclocked yet there are 3090s with clocks over 2000........
A Chinese retailer is listing the gigabyte auros xtreme as 2ghz. Might be fake. Hope not. They wl be beasts so long as you can keep them cool enoughWhich 3090 models have a 2000mhz boost clock? Both ASUS and gigabyte have not yet released their clock speeds.
With a 2ghz boost clock it'll run around 2300mhz in game, that would be 49 teraflops - insane how far we've come
Well these didn't clock as well as expected
