Analogue 3D

I could do with a bit of help if anyone can.

I finally got around to setting my A3D up, updated the firmware and giving it a go. The system boots into the menu just fine.

I also got myself a Summercart 64 and updated the firmware there too. I then loaded a bunch of roms onto it in .N64 format and they all show up in the menu... now here comes the but.

BUT... when I click to load them I am greeted with a black screen. I have tried both NTSC and PAL versions of roms to no avail. Every game I try is a black screen. The system hasn't crashed or anything because I can bring up the menu by pressing Z & Start and then quitting the cartridge.

I've been messing about with this for hours and I just can't get it working.

Someone please say that there is a known solution to this. I've been searching online all afternoon but I can't find much at all.

EDIT: I got it working. I can't even say what did it. But I am happy that it happened, lol.

Enjoy :).

Is there any way to get one of these from the UK without paying absolutely stupid money?
Try eBay, but expect to pay £280-300ish, maybe more depending on colour etc. CeX also sell them, I guess if you can get cheap vouchers off the MM, that might help with the price.

I can recommend the Nintendo Online N64 controller and you should probably pick up a Summercart 64 or equivalent :).

Hmm there are a few on eBay but I didn't really want to pay those sorts of prices. CEX are having a laugh with what they want for one. Already got an SC64 kicking around somewhere ready to go :)

You'll pay around £280/300 after shipping and import tax directly from Analogue. CeX are definitely having a laugh, I do think they'll drop eventually as I think they're struggling to shift them, the two in my local have been in since February. You could get roughly 15/20% off with vouchers from MM.

Yeah fair point on the shipping and import tax. I’ll keep an eye out, see if a bargain pops up on the bay (unlikely).

Never know. Someone might sell them cheaper. Maybe look at the sold listings to give you a better idea on what to expect. It is a really good FPGA console, I have been using mine a fair bit lately, as the updates for Everdrives and Summercarts has been really good along with HDR fixes.

I have two limited editions, unopened as I haven't got around to looking at them. I had problems during the checkout process so opted for a backup colourway to cover myself. Ended up with both. Even if I sold one at cost it would come in over £300. If you see new consoles selling less than this, I would go for it.

What colour(s) did you get? :)

I guess the shipping and tax must really add a daft amount to the cost, otherwise it would be a bit of a steal I think.

It's not quite the Analogue3D but Modretro are bringing out an M64 that is likely to be $199. It is apparently out soon but who knows in this current climate.
Good option, but after shipping etc. It'll probably come out a similar price including import. It would be great to see some comparison reviews.

There's potentially also the moral angle to consider with Modretro. I generally try to keep away from the politics, but I note they are quite a bit behind their release schedule.
