Surprised there has been no posts here regarding the newly announced.

I've never owned a PC engine console but I am considering picking this up. However, it sems like quite a complex console to collect for with the different add-ons and media formats.

Is anyone else planning on ordering this FPGA console from Analogue?

Any recommendations for games to keep an eye out for?

I'll be getting one (if I can), big fan of analogue products, already have a Super NT and Mega SG, and have an NT Noir and Pocket on order at the minute.

Was planning on getting a PC Engine at some point as it is a console I don't yet have, and have been enjoying playing on my PC Engine mini recently; was also going to get the Super SD System 3 from terraonion to play ROMS on it, so the fact that they've announced this and is cheaper than just the Super SD System 3 alone is good.

Might get a few games, but I'll likely just do what I've done with my other analogue consoles, and play majority of stuff off the SD card.

I've an interest in the PC Engine, but not enough to buy an Analogue product. There's a decent FPGA core for MiSTer so I'll play with that instead I reckon

I’m keen on picking up one of these, as I have the SG and NT and find them excellent. However, I can’t tell if ‘limited quantities’ is simply a marketing ploy or the suggestion that it will be impossible to buy one of these.

I'd imagine the interest will be less than what the pocket was. Before the pocket, everything they sold was relatively easy to order, even the recent NT Mini Noir didn't sell out instantly. I'd still try get it on day one if you're interested though, I don't know why they can't just do an open pre-order with a cutoff date because this probably won't even enter production for months. They could well be doing actual "limited quantities" though, but I don't know why they'd spend all the time and money developing it for noticeable limited quantities.

To note; analogues consoles are now liable for "anti-dumping duty" for some reason, I got my NT Mini Noir yesterday, ended up paying about £200 in import fees, £12 was fedex fee, and half left was import duty, and the other half was this anti-dumping duty.

Ouch, I heard about that 25% extra duty on Reddit. So unfair for consumers.

I'd imagine Analogue will make an adequate amount over time but limited quantity likely around 10k units at launch? I'm sure speculative figures on the pocket were around that much.

It’s a good point, hopefully a new trade agreement will be in place before these are ready to ship, otherwise that will be a pain felt at both ends as it certainly won’t encourage buyers of what is quite a niche product.

I’ve also just realised I’ll need to buy an analogue duo to play the SGFX version of Ghouls and Ghosts. I didn’t realise my newly acquired DUO-R and Turbo Everdrive can’t do this. Rookie mistake
