(ANAND)How old is your primary GPU ?

MSI GTX 970 gaming OC

Can't see the point at 1080 in buying anything else at the moment.

Next purchase will probably be a Gsync monitor (most likely 27in, 1440 / 144Hz). This should eek the life of my current graphics cards out until something appears that interests me (and is a sensible price).

980ti here. Had it for 9 months and will probably keep it for another 2 years at least. I came from a 670.

8600gt winfast SLI for 3 years(ish)->HD5770 for 3 years-> GT730m for 1.5 years -> R9 290 until last month then i got a rma r9 390. so not bought for 2 years and 2 months

GTX 950 here. RMA replacement for a 770 that I bought late last year from OCUK. I'm not really much of a gamer these days, I've bought cards based on their HTPC abilities as that was my priority. Hence the choice of the 950 as it was the cheapest card at the time that had HDMI 2.0 for 4k media duties, if I ever get round to getting a 4k monitor/telly/projector. :rolleyes: Prior to these 2 cards I'd bought AMD cards for the last 8 years as I considered them to be better for an HTPC than Nvidia.

GTX 780 bought 10/2013 so just coming up to 3 years. Still not feeling any reason I need to change yet, gaming at 1920x1200. I can see this card lasting past 4 years easily as I just don't care for 4k or fast TN film panels.

Previous generations:
HD6950 - 10/2011 -> 10/2013 - 2 years
HD3870 - 04/2008 -> 10/2011 - 3.5 years
X850XT PE - 12/2005 -> 04/2008 - 3 years

I think this thread is kinda pointless. Those people saying they are running 10 year old GPU's with 'no issues' are obviously not playing games, as they cannot run new games on a 9800pro etc.... Maybe they think it's a competition or something, playing the oldest games at the lowest FPS? :D

Asus 660 2Gb. I've had it for so long that I can't remember when I bought it! Think it was about the time the nVidia 7 series was released. It runs perfectly in my Hackintosh and plays the rare game with aplomb.

I also have an Asus 280x 3Gb in my SteamBox but that's not my main PC.

I've had a 980Ti for about one year. Shouldn't be any chance of needing to get anything faster for quite some time yet. I tend to alternate between brands, so the next one probably will be an AMD card - despite me recently buying a g-sync monitor.

Unless you are going to swap the monitor for freesync then that is a very odd thing to do.

Definitely trying to buy as infrequently as possible because the prices are insane. If it gets much more expensive I'll probably just quit gaming, it isn't worth it.

2yr old 290 vapor x. Got it for around £330 and its been a great card. Been looking to upgrade but refuse to pay £400+ for decent gains.
