I'm no longer a member of a gym so I'm trying to think of ways to safely anchor a resistance band at home for hip, hamstring flossing etc and other mobility exercises I've seen these move squat racks so I'm guessing there is *some* force involved and don't want to slingshot part of my house at me.

I'm also worried a wall anchor might not be sufficient even on an outside wall. What do people generally do?

Use a door handle or dining room table leg. Or a tree.

A tree sounds more like it, pretty sure a band would pull off my new build door handles. Maybe I’m overestimating how much tension needs to be in the band for mobility purposes.

It’s one of those chunky bands rated for 23-45kg-ish rather than a theraband.

Interesting - I used to do the same 'assisted' stretches a few years ago and used a rack for the same purpose. However, I found that - lifting as I was - the injuries I sustained were very long-lasting (hip issue that lasted six months; shoulder issue that lasted six months which makes me wonder how much all that extra mobility narrowed the tightrope between "great lift" and "great injury..."

You *can* get the same effect with clever use of your existing musculature, but it requires somebody to teach you (I was very lucky with my coaching and physio)... my suggestion would be to look at what you're actually trying to achieve with all this mobilisation because the chances are there are some simpler, less extreme things you can be doing to maximise your gainz and also reduce your risk of injury...

completely agree .
a batten horizontally across other side of a door , with a couple of supporting legs to keep it a foot off of the ground ?

.. I need somerthing much higher up to use such a band for pulling down for swimming
