Just aquired another MR2 from a local club member who kindly took away my Cinq in exchange, original plan was to sell it for more than I'd have been able to sell the Cinq for but Vix has taken a liking to it and will be getting rid of her Smart and having this:

Filming of "The Japanese Job" is scheduled for later in the year :p

Pics are bit dark, i'm sure Vix will take some better ones when we get some proper daylight and it's not raining.

Hurray! My hard decision about whether to sell my lovely Smarty and run the MR2 was easily made when Phil brought her home. She's lovely!

Change of sig in progress :D

Three!

There won't be any left soon to leave your flyers on ;)

What's the condition like of the new addition then?

I think we own all the Mk1s in Norfolk ;)

She's not in bad condition for her age, not as nice as Phils but still not much rust.

She has a Stainless Janspeed Zorst which is lovely and noisy and a K&N, other than that she is standard.

Ditches here I come!!! I'm convinced I'm gonna end up in one :/

after watching top gear i would be more worried about going into a ditch in the smart

I had a close look at Phils the other week and I must say the condition of the car is stunning.

I couldn't spot one flaw on it at all.

The rear arches look OK from what I can see in the pics, I understand this is a problem area due to some sort of foam lining?

Can i have one :D

Edit: How are these like to drive?
Whats there acceleration and handling like?
As you know im thinking of getting one

Probably not the easiest car to drive thinking its rwd and mid engine. So you just have to be sensible, especially in the wet.

0-60 in 7.7 and the hanlding is better then the mk2 MR-2, espcially if you get the hardtop version. Though the T-bar version still is good handling and nice as you can take the roof off when it is nice and sunny. How does the fuel over there compare to UK or USA fuel? If its like the stuff in USA it will be about 115bhp compared to 120odd you get in UK.

The best way is to find an MR-2 that has had it's rust sorted out properly as they can rust a lot at the rear arches.

I see that parts of it have been colour coded as the MK1a had black bits.

Even my breaker is in better condition than your old one ;) Vix's has had a Eurosport front and rear valance fitted which I think is where the black bits went.

Nice to see you have another, really is the nicest mark out of the MR-2's. Now get the 20v 4A-GE engine in it!

If I do anything on the scale of an engine swap I'll be putting a 3S-GTE in mine, but that's strictly on the "when i've got money to burn" list.

Very nice, so do you have a red one, a blue one, and a white one then?

Japanese "Italian Job" indeed.

Yup, the red one is just about visible in the garage but it'll never see the road again, it's too far gone for that. Plan is to strip it for parts and scrap the shell once I get some space on the driveway.

There's a few bits that need tidying up on the new one. The previous owner put a fair bit of work into sorting all the arches so the metal is solid but there's a bit of cosmetic rust starting to show here and there which needs rubbing down and respraying before it becomes anything more serious.

Well, I'm quite a sensible driver so hopefully wont be being silly in the wet

Yup, they will both be going to shows, more room for beer!!! And I guess she will have to come to a meet to say hello :)

If you get one, from what i have been told from an owner it would be a very fun car. The engine is a right revver too which makes it even better. :D You can tune it so it revs higher then VTEC's do. :D

To be honest, i really wouldn't mind one, lots of fun for a cheap price.
