...expensive insurance.

Having a total of 9 for speeding (SP30 July 06, SP50 May 08 & SP 30 Sept 09) I am going to have insurance renewal issues. Are there any insurers who are happy dealing with this, given 8 years NCB and no claims made? Yes, I know there are child killer issues with having lots of points and so on, not concered as I don't like kids, just sage insurance advice.

Cheers

TBH speeding points have never made that much of a difference to me. Had 9 points for just over a year a while back and the price difference was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. I never had to hunt round for a specialist insurer, just tried all the normal ones and went with the cheapest/best. My main concern was getting caught again and saying bye bye to my licence, so much so that I currently have 0 points again :)

I've had 10 points for 3 years and it's made no difference on my insurance. Currently with Swiftcover, and quotes with and without the points were exactly the same. All 10 points were SP30's.

Matey of mine has 6 points, 3 for mobile use *idiot* and 3 for 50+ in a 40. He said it made about 10 quids difference from a clean license.

3 points (SP30) made no difference to mine. But then £1000 of mods didnt either. I think my insurance company is nuts.

Friend of mine has 3 points, from talking to him it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to his quotes at all.

Just goes to show, when you go around handing out points like confetti, they suddenly become worthless.

Cool, sounds like points really are just an appreciation of your awesome driving skills and epic speed.

They're a bit slow to recognise my efforts though :(

sigh...the moral brigade having a march....

Yes, total child killing, manic driving, incuding 81mph on an empty motorway on a sunny summer evening and 34 in a dual carriageway 30 zone keeping up with rush hour traffic. the 49 in a 30 was a tad silly.

Back on topic now that we have made the world a safer place driving our Prius at 30mph (actually, bad example!) it is pushing my premium up, nearly £100 a year. We shall see what Privilege offer.

I wasn't sat on a pedestal myself (motorbike licence is clean but I haven't got a clue how I've managed it) I was just agreeing with him that 9 points means you really should be very careful :p

Really I wouldn't say "Child Killer" at all.
It has become a tired and extremely sad thing to put into print.
It's like those people who still write M$ or Micro$oft - basically the "comedians" of the group who really haven't realised comedy has moved on and still enjoy a bit of Jim Davidson.

Some people just aren't happy unless they're "outraged" at something.
