Salutations,
I've just got a nexus 7 tablet and it's prompting me to update to 4.1.2, now when I was watching reviews of the tablet a few reviews said that the update had made the tablet slow down and even in some cases "break it" as in stop applications from running properly and even removing December from the calendar. I'm just wondering is this true or should I wait for the next update before going through with it?

What's this?

Modding the Nexus 7 and installing a custom android ROM. CM10 I use on my Nexus 4 and has very useful features such as being able to customise what is in the quick settings menu, configure the lock screen and countless other little tweaks that make the user experience a whole load better.

Also they make the system a load more streamlined so its quicker to use and battery life (most of the time) is better than stock.

They do small updates nightly on top of this.

Anyone I know who has an Android device I recommend they root and start looking into modding it. Turned my very very old HTC HD2 able to run Windows 8 (not phone, the actual Windows 8 on a phone.)

You'll have a couple of updates available as there's been a fixed firmware for the Dec bug out for a while.
