Android app for blocking calls

For some reason I'm getting more and more junk calls/texts on my phone. Anyone got any recommendations on a call/text blocker?

I've had a look on the play market and there's loads to choose from but a lot of these seem to be geared towards the US. It has to be free as well as I'm a cheapskate.

Some also seem to come with a predefined black list, which sounds great, but how accurate are these lists? I wouldn't want for my bank or insurance company to not be able to get through to me for a valid reason.

What phone do you have? my S3 has a blacklist function built in.
I don't know if it's an Android function or a Touchwiz one though.

It's a Huawei Ascend G300 running Gingerbread, so nothing fancy. I had a quick flick through the settings but couldn't see anything obvious.

Forward spam texts to 7726 on EE/O2, 87726 on voda, 37726 on three. It's free and adds it to the spam filter.

I use Mr number and find it works well, free as well.

How handy is it! I have private numbers blocked and one from T-Mobile who ring nearly everyday to try and and sell me something (work night shifts so need sleep in the day). I like the blocking mode as well if you don't want anyone hassling you but still want important calls to come through.

I'm having a few issues with the ex girlfriend who won't take no for an answer and thankfully Samsung's blocking mode is a god send for blocking her calls and texts!

I don't have to deal with the emotional bullsh!te that I know that she will give me

That T-mobile number is the only one in my block list at the moment
