Hey

I've had a look around but no luck so far.

Has anyone found a way to access music files they have shared on their home wireless network on an android phone.

I have my whole library shared though MediaMonkey (and standard windows folders shared) and would like to be able to listen to it in the house through my phone, but just streaming I don't want to copy loads of music to the SD card.

Thanks

Gmote allows you to stream media from your pc to your phone over a wireless network, you will need to download the server software to your pc.

Could try the latest version of WinAmp 5.6, it has that feature I think(from the quick upgrade note I read). Not had a chance to try it out yet though.

Bit a a big bump..but I've just joined the droid owners club, been scouring round for some nice appz, came across this post..

What are people using now to access music from home? Would like to know what's a good app to browse my home collection when out and about?

Samsung phones have dlna as well.

Whats your phone?

doubletwist is pretty good for this as well.

Google Music apparently opened for anyone for a little while. Quite a bunch of us from the UK have got signed up.

You can upload all your music to their servers and it's then available from any PC through a browser and from any Android using the Google Music app. If preferred you can set albums or playlists to 'offline mode' and it will keep them sync'd to your device.

Unfortunately, yesterday they seem to have closed it down again :-(
