Not really, the service for both of them won't work unless you're in the US.

Which is highly annoying if you have a NFC enabled phone, as its pretty much useless. with more and more stores adopting NFC for our cards, you would think google would release it here.

Are there any places that accepts Google Wallet? Can see this being a lot easier than searching through my wallet for my card when paying

Well it's just NFC, so the machines that take your Paytag card would accept your phone.

NFC chip & PIN readers are becoming more common, seen them in post offices, KFC/McDonalds etc. You can usually tell because they have quite a large colour LCD on them, as opposed to the tiny monochrome displays.

It'll probably be ages before supermarkets or whatever get them though, their backend technology is usually so far behind the times it's unreal. The tills in Sainsbury's use Windows 2000, for example.

Voice, no as its need Google support for the phone number.
Wallet, has limited use since Google plugged support for the prepaid credit card.

To be fair on the scale that Tesco would deploy things like a till OS, if it ain't broke don't fix it springs to mind. XP works so leave it in place.

Whist you can use that to set up a wallet, transactions will fail

If you go here http://www.google.co.uk/wallet/ it says a new version is coming soon and you can request an invite (I assume to take part in the trial).
