Hi,

Is there of backing up an Android device like iOS - ie, a complete phone back up with app data passwords and content etc?

I've got a P20 Pro after years of having an iOS device and just wondered if it is possible via Google?

Unless something has come out in recent years, a complete backup like this, could only be achieved with root access and a paid for backup tool on the Play store (the name escapes me).

The Google backup is alright though, but I'm not sure if it will backup everything you need.

Just be aware with Google backup. If you nice from a newer version of Android to an older one you have zero restore options. This happened recently when my daughter moved from a wileyfox to a p20.

I use Google backup and it works 100%. I recently did a complete restore as the Oreo upgrade on my S7 seemed to be eating the battery. Did a backup to my Google account then an absolutely clean wipe of the phone. A short while later everything was back to how it had been previously, including all the apps on each screen in their old positions. I did have to sign into a few websites again but that was about it.
