Hopefully no-one will mind if I pimp one of my own videos -

I know battery life is always hotly debated and everyone has their own ideas on how to make your battery last longer.

I thought a thread for this purpose might be quite handy?

Battery life does, but tips generally run across all devices. (Bearing in mind this thread is purely for Android)

Tbh, if I buy a Note 2, I don't think that will make my S3 battery last any longer. I also haven't 'profited', I'm down a few hundred. :( Possibly worst battery tip ever.

turn your crappy android off! that is the best tip i can give you, get a proper phone like iphone 5 - 64gb if you want a good one and stop messing around with these cheap low end plastic soap bars..

seriously.. people these days.

Juicedefender ultimate has served me well on both my S3 and now my Nexus 4. Was hitting 4.5 hours on screen time at full brightness on my s3 and hit between 3.5-4 on my nexus 4 at max brightness.

Turn location off, especially the "Use WiFi networks" option.

Disable Latitude (many people enable this by accident and never turn it off again).

Leave WiFi on if you're near WiFi networks, it uses less power than Mobile Data.

Set screen brightness to automatically adjust.

I've sellotaped a nokia 3310 to the back of my S3.

I leave my S3 off all day and just use my Nokia, Saves a lot of battery on the S3.

I turn my S3 on every 3-8 weeks to play 10 minutes of angry birds, then off it goes again.

£40 on contract, but worth it.

Check what you have installed as well, and if you really need it. Noticed this the other day after I installed the ebay app - it sits in the background checking your auctions etc and would hammer the battery on my Captivate Glide - uninstalled and battery is back to normal.

Pretty sure the eBay app uses push.

Can someone help Nexus18 out? He always gets terrible battery life and I can't see where it's all going wrong?
