android facebook notifications

Me and my gf both have sgs s2s and have facebook for android installed but she gets notifications and i dont, anyone know why?

Both phones have same settings.

It's always been decent for me, there were one or two poor releases but overall it's fine.

I don't use Facebook much though so don't really care

The mobile web site is better on most occasions, the Facebook on Android polls the GPS every time you open it.

Did your gf have a Blackberry before the SGS II?

Yes blackberry 9300

Ive never owned blackberry.

Strange if she logs on my acc with her phone she wont get notifications so cant be related to the phones directly?

Her fb doesnt open gps either, mine does tho hmmm ?

You need to log into the Facebook for Blackberry Smartphones app so that you get the right permissions for the notifications. Then log into your own phone and it should be fixed.

It's odd I know, but that's one of the reasons.

Having had the BB version running previously allows a setting change within Facebook which fixes the app notifications problem.

Mine don't update either. Go go Facebook app!

Or alternatively, download the BBM Emulator / SDK and log in that way.

Found the facebook app terrible, it was killing my battery with partial wake locks D:

Also when they released the new chat app i was getting chat notifications from the main app and the chat one... even though all notifications were disabled on the main app -.-

The android facebook app is a huge joke and should not be used tbh. I have no idea why they neglect it so much.

Agree Facebook app on Android is an absolute **** take.

I use it on browser as well ...
