Android handsets 'leak' personal data - New Item On BBC website

Lol it made me laugh when the article said to update to the latest version of Android!!

Thats just one of the reasons Android is utter tosh because you can't just update to the latest version when stuff like this is fixed. The person who thought that leaving updates in the phone makers hands for a smartphone OS was a good idea should be shot! The OS is constantly changing so installing updates is a must ffs.

It's working so much better for Microsoft with their non fragmentation...

Or not... Stupid providers apparently take a couple of months to "test" new updates as well...

Like a lot of security issues, this one is slightly overblown. At least unless you care about villains seeing when you have to take your cat to the vet.

OE TEH NOES!

Good thing I don't connect to other people's open wifi then eh?

Android phone owners are being urged to update their handset to avoid problems
Thanks for the heads up, I know a few people at work who have Galaxy S' so I'll tell them to update their phones. :)

Am I right in assuming Apple and Windows phones already encrypt their tokens? I use wifi quite a lot on my phone and it's better to be safe than sorry...

Tell them to do nothing, it's already being fixed by google. SGS owners that are pointed towards kies are not in for a good time :(

Like those above, good job I don't trust unknown, unsecured networks. ;)

I was planning on updating anyhow, but good that the fix can be done server side.
