So Im thinking of getting myself one of these Android head units for my Civic EP2. BUT there is a bum load of them available and I dont have a clue as to what is good and what is not. Does anyone have any experience with these Android Head Units and can you offer me any advice please? Cheers

I looked into this a while back and was about to pull the trigger on this one. Still looks to be pretty active although with Android M around the corner may be worth waiting for a newer version?

I got one from ebay that was designed for my Focus MK2 about a year ago. It's okay...

Sound quality is fine.

Subwoofer pre-outs didn't work so needed to use hi-low converters on rear speaker wire

Reverse Camera doesn't come on automatically, no biggy as I don't use it.

Takes about 20 seconds to start, but for the pass 6 months there's a 33% chance it'll start with "System UI has closed" and it takes a good 30 seconds again for it to fix itself... Might try factory resetting it when I get some free time.

The real reason I got it however is that it will tether to my phone, which has unlimited data, and you can install spotify on it. It also has google maps which is my preferred SatNav app seeing it has free traffic. Those are the only reasons I got it.

Had a look about. I like the look of the Pioneer AppRadio 4 but I cant seem to see any in stock anywhere?

You probably dont want that if you use android though - it's ideal if you're an iphone user, but wait for android auto units to drop in price if you use android. Or buy a more expensive android auto unit

Whats the problem using the Appradio with Android?

I have looked at a few YouTube clips and it looks OK using a Note 4 and Appradio Unchained

Read the reviews. The appradio stuff was a clunky compromise, it used HDMI output from the phone and a handful of apps which supported it.

The "appradio 4" is really an entry level Apple Carplay unit, which has the appradio stuff as a legacy hangover and a compromise to android users. It'll work, but wont be anything like as slick as Android Auto or Apply Carplay.
