Android Headunits

Just in the process of installing a Chinese Android headunit. NU3001, was about £240 I think.

Very impressed, the touch screen is very nice and multitasking is fast.

Will be nice putting any Android apps on there, I have a good 4G signal locally so I can use my phone as a wireless hotspot for it. Internet radio should be good.

Stick a USB hub on there, potential for game controllers.

Here is a quick video of it, I've not fitted it fully into the dash yet and my wireless was working a little slow from the garage.

Nice, looks pretty good. What is the sound quality like? 4x25w seems a bit weak.. And what sort of connections do you get at the rear?

Civic EP3.

I've not messed with it much yet. I'll report back when I have everything set up like bluetooth calls etc.

This launcher for it looks OK.

I've got one in my T5, not the N3001 but the NU5002S which has no capacitive buttons and a larger screen but same internals.

The stock rom is pretty poor, defiantly update the MCU and install xdauto.

I use tasker on my phone to automatically start WiFi tether when the phone connects to the bluetooth profile on the headunit and can be streaming radio or Spotify without having to faff around.

I have the Parrot Smart in my C class, excellent wee bit of kit. Altough it is showing it age now, it still does everything I want. Texts, emails, bluetooth voice, music, sky+ app, spotify etc etc..

I picked up a pumpkin unit for around the same price delivered for my civic. Works a treat and having the market is very nice. Improved my stock speakers to no end (rubbish oem unit to blame) and I've installed poweramp for my music. I've found the USB transfer rate to be rubbish (think USB 1.1) and playing music from USB was terrible, but I have since put a 32gb micro sd for sat Nav maps and music, as well as some TV shows if we get stuck in traffic, which has sorted that right out. Highly recommended from me. Also nice to get a proper sub output too.

If you find a music player that responds to steering wheel controls let me know because power amp doesn't. Just the **** stock one. Volume is fine but can't skip tracks.
