Android L unified icons sizes and shapes

Personally I prefer the current mixture of shapes but surely the best fix would just to allow people to change app icons, be that to a pack or individually, within the default OS hence giving the choice.

Where do you draw the line though? You will just get people wanting more and more choices. Ex you want one icon pack as a standard option but others want a different icon pack as standard.

Like said above this really isn't an issue. You just find a set of icons you like and then you install them

I'd rather Google just fix Android TBH. Maybe in the next major release they'll get this sorted once and for all.

There isn't anything to "fix" though ... it's fine as it is, just that you would prefer it to be different.

As Father Ted says above, have it so people can install icon packs / icons in the default launcher and then everyone can be happy.

What phone are you using? You can use a 3rd party launcher like Nova and use a different icon pack which will feel more unified.

Moonshine is based off the Android L leaks and looks very good:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nexbit.icons.moonshine

The developer is working on a massive update which will update every icon to be more in line with Google's material design guidelines so it should feel even more unified.

Yep, until you install an app which moonshine doesn't have an icon for....then it looks even worse

Don't install apps then :P. Normally if I have a lesser known app without an icon I just assign it one, it is annoying but more of a 1st world problem then anything else.

There are tons of icon packs that all cover the same basic shape. There is even one which has the stock icons but all in a specific shape.
