This has been bugging me for a little while now, and I was wondering if it was unusual or not. Basically none of my apps ever tell me there are updates until I go into the Market. If I do go into the Market, I then get bombarded with update notifications, and downloads from apps automatically update. Should it be happening like this? Can apps not give me a 'push' update notification without me having to go into the Market?

It doesn't seem to work very well, because I have a fair few apps that automatically update, so they all try to do it at once and generally fail because they're all trying to install to my phone which will run out of space before I get the chance to move them back over to my SD card. Annoying!

Same here!

Whats worse, since 2.2 I have been seeing cases where it ends up saying to me that I got update that isnt manuel but didnt automatically update either. Then when I get it updated, I end up being asked to update again the same version.

Some of my apps are the same actually, in that they will check for updates themselves then notify me and others as you say will just wait until I open the market to check and notify me subsequently ...

The whole notification system on my DHD seems a bit buggered - I know there's an issue with the sms notifications - not sure if that was fixed yet as I haven't updated my phone lately!

Same here, on Desire HD, won't notify me about updates unless I go to the Market and click on My Apps. Someone should do something about it.
