I have a Galaxy S, cracking phone, I love it.

Only thing that bothers me is that if I leave the phone and come back to it later I have no way of knowing if I have a missed call or text etc without picking up the phone and unlocking it.
Is there some setiing to allow missed call reminders or failing that can anybody reccomend a good app that would do the job

Cheers

Do you not have a notifications light? All of the android-based HTC phones have a notification light that will blink when you've got a text/email/missed call.

I know mine's turned itself off before, could be the same for you?

The Galaxy S doesn't have a notification light unfortunately - neither does the Galaxy S II.

You shouldn't have to actually unlock the phone to see you've had a missed call though - you just need to turn the screen on and there should be a symbol in the notification bar.

I think what the OP is meaning is precisely that - the only way he knows he's had a call/text etc once the screen has turned off is by waking it up again and seeing the symbols in the notification bar, not unlocking in any other sense.

I would have to agree with him on that point - it is the solitary advantage that my old Nokia 5800 had over my in-every-other-way-far-superior SGS. If the menu and/or back button could be made to flash if a call/message arrives and the user is away, that would be excellent.

Yep, that's exactly what I meant. just seems a strange omission. There's an app on the marketplace caleed Missed Call Deluxe for about 60p that looks as if it will do the job, I'll probalbly give that a whirl.

Cheers for the help guys. :)

NoLED should do what you need it too, also gives you the notifications for text/emails etc. Just make sure you set a decent timeout, and the sleep hours too, otherwise it can eat battery a little if you don't check your phone for 2+ hours and the screen has been on to show the little lights flashing.
