Hi,
I remember reading a while back that Google had added music streaming from your home PC to Gingerbread phones. Seemed like quite a cool idea.

Does anyone know if they used some App to do it? Or can they recommend an app combo (for PC end and Android end) that'll allow me to do it?

Thanks in advance all.

:)

Is there any documentation behind it?
Im not just gonna download a random file off a file sharing website ;-)

Also, what do i need server side?

##EDIT##
From what ive read thats music sync, not music streaming.
Want to keep my collection on my PC and stream to my phone or work laptop when out and about.

Bump!

Anyone?

Seen a few that works by an intermediary, but I'd prefer strait from phone to server tbh.

At home I stream over Wifi from my server to my phone using upnplay

Or are you looking for something that streams when you are out & on the move ?

I have my home pc setup with a VM running Windows 2003 with IIS installed, when i am out and about i just web-brows on my phone over 3g to http://my.ip.address/mp3 and it loads all my mp3 collection in a web browser, i just click into the albums and tracks i want to listen to and it plays, no special software or app installed that i know of, but i am using Gingerbread 2.3 OS on my mobile.

When i am at home on the Wi-Fi i just use ES File Explorer and brows the same mp3 collection on my main pc, i click and it plays.

As long as you have wifi, i find Audiogalaxy pretty good, nothing like sitting in a quite pub listening to your tunes from home:)

Tbh, AudioGalaxy seems my best option upto now, even though it does seem to use AudioGalaxys servers as a proxy. :(

Runs sweet on 3g as well, oh my data plan
Ive noticed that.
Did a test, full Ting Tings album takes up about 20Meg of data.
Not bad, i'll still mostly be using the stuff on my phone, but for those rare occasions when i want to listen to something else...:D
