Android or Apple?

Also Acidhell, can you not just get all your films via iTunes or something of the sort? I'd imagine its more expensive than Lovefilm though :(

Robboftw - A Flash enabled web browser is the main reason i will not get an iPad. I mean the lack of flash means when i go on for example - OCUK and someone has embedded a youtube vid i have no way of watching it there and then - why?

That and i don't like iOS's look and layout and lack of features such as a decent notifications system, widgets, tabbed web browser, customisability.

Hardware wise the design is second to none i agree, however there is a lot lacking. No SD slot, no HDMI out on the device (going to have to carry around the adapter everywhere you go), 4:3 format screen, lower res to the point where you can see pixelation at arms length (IPS Screen has nice colours and viewing angles i agree) the Ipad takes 7 hours to charge (c'mon you have to agree that is a joke), why have a camera on the back if its gonna be crap (less that 1MP). And it's not like the XOOM is ugly - it literately looks the same from the front. And other Android tablets will be out that will offer a wide variety of looks and sizes.

Apples App store is a lot better i agree - but it won't take long till there will be equivalents on the Android Market. And then the ipad will lose its trump card.

OS wise i see Android having way more potential look and feel wise . iOS seems dated and just looks like it gets patched for more features...looks wise it the same as iphone back in 2007.

So No the Ipad clearly isn't better as different people want different things.

what I really want is a mixed of stuff I can purchase and using my love film subscription (thousands of free films to stream). now lovefilm is building an app, but how good it'll be or how long is anyones guess. However the same can be said with the reverse with android and a media shop.

Of course they will, but at this moment in time there is just no real competition to the iPad.

If you feel differently and will be happy with a Xoom then thats great, but while it has a few features that are better, it just doesn't even begin to compare with the iPad2 on the whole in my personal opinion (and the opinion of nearly everyone else, professional or otherwise).

I hope the people who is againts iDevices have played with them, because until they do they won't no what they are missing. How sleek, imaginitive, enhanced & magical these devices are.

PS I don't own an iPad but I do own an iPhone 3GS, only started to play with iPads few days ago. I suggest if you ain't had ago with one, do so.

does this add full flash in Safari?

I'm not sure, I don't own an iPad so I haven't tried it, but some people who have Jailbroken the iPad have been about to view flash videos, so I'd like to think the the Lovefilm site which the OP uses may work with a little tinkering.

Also, the Xoom doesn't come with Flash working out of the box, that also need a little tinkering before flash will work, so it does seem Flash right now is nothing but a pain no matter which tablet you choose... :(

what does youtube and sites like youtube use then? what does lovefilm use (i'm asking)?

Youtube on iOs devices uses HTML5 I think, along with Blip.tv, Dailymotion, etc.

EDIT: If someone want me to check a video site with an iPhone, post a link and I'll try it for you. :)
