Android Phone for up to £300

The Moto X 2013 and 2014 cameras are horrible, with the camera app being one of the worst I have ever seen. Who thought that the only way to take a photo would be to tap the screen, instead of using it to focus, which you do my dragging or something.

The OnePlusOne is a buggy phone. Lots of users suffer touchscreen issues, including multi-touch not working properly. Plus the customer support is non-existent. It's good value in hardware terms but if your sister is after a phone that "just works", I would definitely avoid in favour of one of the other options mentioned.

I bought a sim free Huwaei Honor 6+ from the 3 store last week for £299 after I dropped my LG G3 in a river and absolutely love it.

1080p 5.5" screen, 3gb RAM, 32gb, dual sim, micro SD slot, excellent camera, 3600 mah battery, made of metal and glass and has got Lollipop coming shortly. Its running an EMUI skin on top of Android though but now I've got used to it I quite like it.

Moto x is on 48h discount, £299 til it ends. Not saying its the best, just that it is on offer :) Personally i have a Z3 and love it.

Good choice unless you use GPS.

Kitkat or lollipop? Can't say I have any issues with lollipop 5.02 on the G2. Besides, just stick google launcher or apex/nova on it?

Has the ota of lollipop come out yet? When I last used mine it was still on Kitkat but the skin and amount of extra crap installed is annoying compared to stock android.

On selected networks yes. I updated mine using the LG mobile support tool.

Soo we've ended up going for the HTC One M8 as I found it for £300 at the german rainforest. Should get it on Saturday or next Monday.
