Android Physical Buttons

hi,

anyone know if the physical buttons on the bottom of the nexus one/htc desire (home, back, search, menu and the trackball) are on all android handsets?

You've seemingly answered your own question. It varies depending on the manufacturer of the handset.

Most of them seem to have the 4 buttons in some way/shape/form.

all android phones have the buttons that perform those functions, but not all of them are physical buttons.

oh, not all handsets have trackballs/trackpads, but all android handsets have some sort of directional controls.
