Android - Renaming files over USB takes ages?

Silly, but annoying issue.

I get this on my phones and tablets, but whenever I rename a file on the tablet or phone, using the PC when it is connected via a USB cable, it takes absolutely ages to catch up!

For example, creatine a new folder, makes the folder instantly, but then renaming it to whatever I want it to be called, takes a fair while.

Its easier and quicker to simply make it on the PC and name it whatever and then copy it over.

Is there a reason for this, and what can I do to resolve it?

Thanks.

I have also experienced the issue and thus far have not found a solution. I find it happens more when attempting to create/rename a folder on a SD card of the device not on the main storage. Have experienced this issue on multiple android devices which have a SD card.

Yes, that does seem to be the case?

Annoying because this is not an issue with either my Windows phone, or my Blackberry Q10, just on every android device though!

Didnt think about it being an issue on the device and only on the card... I will have a look at that, but I always use a card for my own data and this will in theory, let the phone/tablet have the entire of its own memory for itself, but certainly, just to see what each device does... It would be good to know!

I have accepted it, but its a bloody irritating thing isnt it? - especially when to actually make the folder, it is instant, its only renaming the thing that it takes so long? I find that just so bloody annoying.

Thanks anyway.
