some pointers here that might help you out. I'd also recommend browsing youtube for video reviews as this is what i did months before deciding on my phone (which is the Desire btw)

Surely the only good thing about the iphone is the software and apps - the hardware is poor at best -so why would you do this?

iPhone is a crappy Android phone due to lack of buttons...

That said, cool story bro* :D

*Not sarcasm.

Take it into an Apple Shop while its running Andriod and complain its working funny. Watch their heads explode. :D

Ha, wait who am I kidding, they'd just claim that theres water damage, right?

Iphone 3G has only 128MB RAM as well. Something android wasn't designed for considering even phones like the HTC Magic/Hero have 288MB. Surprised its working as well it is in the video.

Some people just don't get it :D.

Even? They were high end phones when released. My i5700 has 128MB i believe. Considering it's been seen running on old OMAP850 phones with 64MB RAM Android certainly was designed for low end devices.

UK magic`s don't have 288mb, its 192mb i believe

That's quite interesting. That would make it equal to the HTC Dream at 192MB. I suppose I should really have picked the Dream (G1) as a comparison in the first place, since it is the original googlephone the OS was used on. Still 50% more RAM is nothing to scoff at.

Running and running well is another story though.

yeah here`s the 2 magic`s that are about
PVT32A handsets have 288MB total RAM (192MB usable by OS
PVT32B handsets have 192MB total RAM (96MB usable by OS)

PVT32B handsets are the UK phones(T-Mobile)

i have PVT32A from Italy unlocked

What do you mean by usable by the OS? What happens to the rest of it? If you mean reserved for the OS, it seems weird for so much to be reserved in the 288MB case. Perhaps you mean 96MB is reserved by the OS (in both cases) and the rest 96MB or 192MB is usable by applications.
