Quick question (although it may be very easy).

If I have an iPhone and an Android tablet, would this be enough to understand if I would prefer an iPhone over an Android phone (and visa versa), and if I would prefer an iPad over an Android tablet (and visa versa)?

So basically put, the operating system with Android is the exact same whether its a phone or tablet, and the same applies to the iOS.

Also, how different (percentage wise) are Android skins to stock Android? and do most Android users prefer stock Android phones and why?

Stock android has less bloatware, and a "pure" stock phone (Nexus etc) get quicker updates directly from google.

Its generally all the same though, some android tablets can even have sim cards, so just function as a normal android phone.

Once I told my gf an android tablet is basically a bigger version of her phone, she didn't really fancy one anymore as she can do everything on the phone anyway.

While similar, tablet Android is a worse experience than phone Android by quite some margin. Apps upscale but are often poorly laid out (so much dead space). iPads are generally a better tablet experience imo on the whole as the proportion of iOS tablets to phones out there is higher in ratio than Android tablets to phones. Phones are harder to compare, you may be attached to something in particular (OLED screens / storage here personally) which naturally would drive you towards one OS over the other.

Generally you can get back to the majority of the stock look of Android with a replacement launcher (real cheap / free) and an app or two. A lot of them add extra features too which i appreicate are not used by everyone, but do help. I'm testing an S7 right now with goodlock and Nova launcher and it's a pretty stock like UI to me (good lock is Samsung only).

iOS on iPad has a few features that the iPhone version doesn't (e.g. split view) but they're almost identical.

The main difference will be in the third-party apps. There's plenty of apps out there that are iPad only and make full use of the extra screen space.

iOS for tablet is better developed for the bigger screen as opposed to Android. Android lacks tablet apps. I have a Z3 but bought a iPad and most likely would not buy an Android tablet in the near future.
