Just tried the eee live ISO on my HP Mini netbook. Wifi and webcam seem to work, sound doesn't though.

Might try this on virtualbox
Maybe put it on my old laptop, altho I'm using openbox atm

I've just ordered an ICS tablet so might just stick with openbox on the laptop.

I'm pretty sure I tried android 2.2 or 2.3 on virtualbox ages ago but had a few problems.

Lobbed the ISO onto a memory card using unetbootin, booting my dad's Eee701 off it now to see if it's any good.

And....it runs pretty well, actually. Installed it to the SSD hard drive. It's replacing an outdated and fairly broken install of Leeenux so it was always going to be an improvement, but still - very impressed.

I tried it on a Dell netbook we have at work and everything worked, if I could get a 3G USB modem working, it could prove VERY useful for a project we are doing at the minute.

How is it on a desktop, does the mouse work? This might be better than any other *nix with Google behind it, ofcourse I heard that Google tracks & other evil stuff.

Could I ask what Dell it was? I have a mini 9 with a bust ssd drive but this could breath some life into running off USB.

I just tried this on virtualbox

At first I used the asus iso but I couldn't get the networking working

After looking around I found a different iso for virtualbox with ethernet support

Still unable to get the sound working tho

Might just put it on a usb stick and try it on my laptop tho as it has an ATI GPU

Threw this on my netbook, all works perfectly bar the fact I've only got 2GB storage..

I haven't the foggiest on how to mount my second partition (200GB) as SD card.

It supports mouse, I installed it into virtualbox and it runs just fine, mouse input is a little bit iffy as I have dual screens which I think it doesn't like.

Just put Ice Cold Sandwich on my Desire HD, i must say i really like it massive step forward in my eyes. Its very quick even on my phone @1.3ghz.

Installed this to its on partition on an assus 1011px netbook. runs flawlessly. everything works out the box too. if only i could put my sim card in and i would be laughing lol

Finished my current 'project' this week on Dad's Eee 701 - Android-x86 has now been mated to a touch screen overlay

Much cheaper than buying a tablet!
