Is it just me or does he look a bit like our England captain? :)

dont rate him at all

cant believe he is in England reserve over Bent.

yes he scored 20 goals in his first season in the prem but 10 of them were penatlys ffs.

plus he has been poor this season, altho hes been a bit injury blighted recently.

deffo not worth 8million +

guarantees you 15 goals a season, 10 of them penalties :D
there's a reason he's not chased by any of the big clubs, because he's not good enough for them.

£8Million, what a rip-off, he's worth £5Million MAX

Looks a tad overpriced, much like Jeffers. No wonder many clubs are looking abroad for their signings if you have to pay this much for an overrated Championship player.

8.5million??? WTF?? rip-off.
hes not worth that at all. if he was a different nationality like french he would be worth like £2.5-3million.
thank god the Wigan manager is fairly rich.

The thing that most people forget to realise about Johnson is that a very large proportion of his goals tally in his first season in the premiership were scored from the penalty spot, so 15+ goals certainly isn't guaranteed. Now with a price of £8.5m on his head he suddenly has people doubting that he is worth that money and that all adds up to presure on himself, the manager and the other players.

When he was playing for Palace there wasn't much expected of him other than to chip in with the odd goal and do his bit, now with that kind of price tag and playing for a team that are looking to be at least top half of the table he will have to do a lot more to "justify" his price in the eyes of the media, public and fans, thats not an easy task!
