Andy Johnson

I wouldn't say the price tag was stupid, he does have a lot of abilty when it comes to dribbling with the ball etc.. He is far better than, lets say, Heskey who was also a similar price tag.

As an Everton fan I hope to god we don't get him. He's about 5mil overpriced and I'd rather have Nugent from Preston for that kind of money.

Edit: I mean I'd rather Nugent for 3mil not 8mil!

Dean Ashton was almost certainly a better deal. Darren Bent was an unquestionably better deal, but was arguably undervalued due to only having 12 months left on his contract.

that's because Bruce is an absolute moron to pay a ridiculous price for Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey, who by the way cost £6.25 Million, that's £2.25Million less AND has 45 England caps AND was signed from Liverpool not a championship team.

£8.5M is a tad too much, he has yet to impress me, above doesn't count :p

yes when he was 20, and the market was inflated and from a premiership side then and he didn't score 60% of his goals from penalties and houllier was an idiot who later got sacked, what's your point?

he didnt say when he moved to birmingham, did he ?

U was simply pointing out that what nokkon said was correct he did cost a similar price to heskey, in the end it doesnt matter though there both garbage :p and both overpriced :p

He's a 4 million player at the absolute most. I just wont believe that somewhere in the world their isn't a young up and coming striker that would cost 8.5million or less. Why is no one out there looking? I know that the english clubs often get slated for going foreign, 8.5 million for andy johnson is a perfect example of why that is sometimes necessary

Thats a really good point. Dean Ashton is a vastly underated player. Personally I would have took him to the world cup over Peter Crouch and Theo Walcott. Plays a number of positions up front and technically a very good player.

Didn't realise he was a breakdancer in his spare time! ;)

He's vastly over-rated in my opinion. Even Palace supporters say he needs 5 chances to score a goal. Simon Jorden has been very shrewd in building him up in his time at Palace. I'd put him on a par with someone like Jason Roberts.

i have been saying that he would be a top player since he went to norwich - sure he hasn't done it for a full season in the prem but when you see his quality yoiu know he can play international football, other players you don't.

must be said simon jordan has been astute in getting so much for him - he is simply vastly over-rated but saying that for a team like bolton would offer a lot.
