angels and airwaves and plus forty four

Hey all

Remember the worst band break up ever...blink 182 *cries a little*..anyway
they all went their seperate ways and formed new bands

the bassist/singer mark hoppus and the drummer travis barker (who is amazing) have formed a joint band called plus 44.
This is totally different music from the classic blink style, they have made it more electronic type of music. I think they are fantastic, check them out here
plus forty four myspace
Have a listen to the song they have out

Now, the lead singer of blink 182 went off and formed Angels and airwaves, he stayed with his punk rock type music. This band really is something, i cant stop listening to their first song called "The adventure"

Go here website

Click the left side called "adventure" to listen to the new song, click the right side called "the movie" to see something that tom delonge produce to try and show what type of band they will be.

Anyway, if you didnt like blink 182, dont just slate them because of this, give them a good listen to a few times and see what you think.

I really like The Adventure, great build up and tune, shame about his voice. But still a very nice song.

Wow, thanks for the info, I'd heard of both bands but didn't realise their histories. :D

I'm hoping +44 are good because I'm really starting to get in to Electronic stuff. :D And can never go wrong with poppy-punk-rock stuff. :)

Anyone know when the +44 album is coming out? I'll be interested to hear both that and AvA's album as I was a huge Blink fan back in the day.

Anyone even remotely related to Blink 182 should never be allowed to make music ever again.

I can fully understand anyone not liking Blink 182, I can remember when my mate used to play their stuff all the time in the car and I used to think "What the hell is this?"

Then I saw them Live at Leeds festival in 2003 and just totally got it. Loved them ever since.

Hahahaha. You obviously know absolutely nothing about drumming then as Travis Barker is a very good drummer.

Really looking forward to +44, been watching out for them for quite a while now.

I was never one for this genre. However, once the blink syndrome struck, I now have every song released

They're fantastic!

I know nothing about drumming? Listen to Dave Weckl.

Not the best though, I think he overuses the snare on occasion.

True, his style is very much an acquired taste. But he's technically very profficient and very tight timekeeping wise.

I don't think anyone's going to try arguing that he's a better drummer than Weckl, so how is that relevant?
Did I say he was a better drummer than Weckl? Surely someone who "doesn't know anything about drumming" wouldn't even know who Weckl is, let alone be able to draw a comparison?
