Black Friday retail chaos...wth ?!?

Just been watching some videos on the news about the Black Friday chaos at retail stores across the UK from midnight last night.

It's unbelievable really, how chaos like that can erupt. Some people didn't want anything in particular, others just grabbed stuff they didn't even need!

Yay, Ive managed to snag a cheap, low quality TV that might not even work when I get home after using it as a battering ram to shake off rival shoppers.

It's just hilarious, have these people not heard of the Internet and buying items cheap from the comfort of your sofa?!?

So, anyone go to any Black Friday stores, how was your experience?

The thing is, a lot of these cheap 40" TVs don't even have Freeview HD, and looking on the net you can get one which supports Freeview HD and iPlayer for 200 notes, these shoppers are ridiculous.

Except the ones most were going crazy for were 50" and has preview HD so kind of destroys your point, as those aren't available at 200 notes. Although they are still available on Tesco website, so utterly silly.

Most I've seen are the crappy £90-£150 40ish inch ones. Utter rubbish really, but great for a kids bedroom or something.

The biggest seller and on most of the news is at the Tesco stores
Blaupunkt 50/149Z 50 Inch Full HD 1080p LED TV with Freeview HD @ £250
Good luck finding anything else at that price.

hang around in the monitor sub forum and do some reading, panel quality and internal video processing is everything. These TV's are pure dellboy and in a previous life were used as walls to prop up shanty towns.

Rofl, it is far from everything for the average person.

Stop being a snob.
And I'm not, but it is no wonder why people want such TVs for the price and spec. And it's probably better than the two TVs I have.

Its not snobbishness, im all for a good deal. but these products are trash and the peoples behavior is obviously primitive and frankly dangerous.

there may be some who call names but im not, im just calling it as i see it. Its nothing to do with class, its to do with a complete lack of..

Chavs gonna chav.... 90% of em will be on buyback in the local cash-gen by next week anyway so they can buy smack.

They aren't trash though, they work as a large TV. As for the behaviour off course, but that wasn't your point and something I havent said other wise.

You are a snob. Most people want cheapo and large, who are you to tell them they should spend three times as much on a better panel.

The average Joe watches TV at between 8-12ft. At 8 feet, 65 inch is recommended for maximum experience, so a below par 50 is still going to be acceptable for the average watcher. Let's face it, these folk are not really interested in high quality blu-ray PQ. As long as they can watch Eastenders on it, they're happy.

I so, then the TV is bloody good value. The nearest 50 I can find on Richer Sounds is a 50 Panny vieira at £419. Quite a difference.

But it's still no excuse for the violent scrum we saw today.

so im a snob about the technology not the people, fine :)

point accepted and admitted I am a technology snob, id rather have an MSI gaming laptop than a netbook from argos, both are computers but one does the same thing better than the other.

the behavior wasn't my original point, but seen as you mention it they do put the UK in a bad light (again) cant complain about immigrants when your own native people behave like apes

also @robfosters i see your point but its like comparing a punto to a bmw 3 series. Both do the same job and for most the punto is more than good enough. This is the law of goods, you get what you pay for 9 times out of 10 the pricer item is higher quality. If you or anyone in the budget demographic actually notice, care or appreciate isn't really the question or the point.
