Ann Droid

She doesn't do it for me in the laughs department, can't remember anything she's been in that I've watched that's made me chuckle.

It's the same with a few other comedians who've done TV like Chris Ramsey.

Not sure that's my take. Cunk is great, other stuff has been mildly amusing at best, can't say I've noticed a male/female split though.

Yeah fair enough - obviously just talking in my sphere of friends and family with that statement. Sounded a bit more all encompassing than intended!

Have not yet watched this but enjoyed all of Diane's other works.

I don't get the hate for mrs browns boys. Why is it hated so much ? It seems a lot of people jump on the hate wagon just because ? Can anyone give a solid objective reason, or is it soley based on subjective opinions ? i.e." i don't find it funny, therefore no one else must"

It was wildly popular at it's peak. Personally I thought it was awful so will happily bad mouth it where I can in the knowledge that millions of people disagree :D

yeah but there's lots of tv shows that are awful and lots that are good. Mrs browns boys seems to rile up the hater for some reason. Like Love island. I have watched an ep or 2 just to see what it's about. And its absolutely horrendous in all sorts of ways. But there isn't the same hate for that online as Mrs browns boys.

I was in a room with several people and we were all laughing at a few stages in every episode of Ann Droid.
It was not the worst comedy going, it was enjoyed for the most part.

We had no idea who the actress was, perhaps it helped that we had no expectations of her or past judgement.

Some parts were really cringe though with Michaels storyline.

I found it a bit cringe, predictable and not in the least bit amusing. I think it might appeal to people who enjoy a pantomime. Never watched Mrs Browns boys apart from a little bit my Mrs was watching once and didn't find it amused me. I guess we all have different tastes and senses of humour. I don't think I have found any comedies funny in the last 20 years or so. I do enjoy some of Jimmy Carr's crowd work on Youtube but not his actual routines he does.

I hate it because of the tax dodging element.

Not really true, everyone interviewed is aware that she is a fictional character and that they are appearing in a spoof, but they don't know what she is going to say.

A few interviewees have appeared multiple times.

Not my humour but the Mrs liked it. I can't stand Gervais either.. and I don't really find Mrs Browns Boys funny .. perhaps the marmite humour is a sign of good comedy - which is a good thing.
