Hi guys, Im working in a school as a IT technician and i have a problem with a pc here. Now iv been trying to get this little bugger working all week now and i think its a borked mobo but wanted to come here just to double check.

Simptoms are as follows: The pc doesnt post (no beeps) Iv taken out ram/hd/cpu and still nothing. Iv tried another psu but i knew it wasnt that. Its using onboard gfx aswell, iv also changed the cmos battery and cleared cmos, so im guessing its a mobo problem right?

Thanks

Jacob

did u build the system? or did it just stop working suddenly?

if it suddenly stopped working and as you say you have tried another psu it could be the mobo...

if there are 2 sticks of RAM you *** try booting with one, remember to clear CMOS....

if nothing then yes I would have to agree its the mobo...

remember if it is the mobo, the led lights on the board would still light up and the hsf fan would still spin...

You have done everything to isolate the fault - The only thing it can be is the mobo.

(PSU changed / No components in mobo - Nothing else which can be wrong)

So yup - Get the mobo replaced. :)

Thanks guys, yeah i was sure it prolly was the mobo! But sometimes you can never be too sure! We ALL know how random pcs can be sometimes..

Yeah i Tried it with 1 stick and with 0 sticks and still nothing, I wanted to get some beeps but its a nogo so it must be the mobo..

Na i didnt build it myself, If i had i would have built something good  :D
