Annoying problem!

Im have a problem with my laptop, most of the time when i boot it up it gets to the windows loading screen then sits on a black screen and never gets to the login screen!

The only way i have managed to get on everyday is by going into safe mode and restarting, then it works! but tis started to really drive me mad!


any ideas?

I have a Dell M1210, Intel Core 2 duo T7200 2.00GHz, 1Gb of ram, Nvidia GeForce go 7400 (if that helps).

Boot to the XP cd, repair the installation..at the command prompt type chkdsk /r

Will scan and repair issues with the disk's integrity. Might help.
