Annoying Things Manufacturers Do

Somewhat related (I don't know if they still do it though)

putting 20 minutes of antipiracy videos then 20 minutes of trailers on a dvd (obviously an exaggeration, but still annoying)

The fact that my Panasonic plasma always defaults to Freeview / DTV input when I 1st turn it on rather than simply remembering the last input used really bugs me, particularly as I dont even have freeview. :D

This. Exactly this.

Unless it's changed there's an option in the menus, usually under 'general' or some such, 'Power on Preference'. This will probably say 'dtv'. Change it to 'AV'. On my few year old PZ80BA it comes under General.

When HD-DVD and BluRay first came out, one of the big selling points was that when you put the disc in, it would immediately play the film, rather than going to a menu like DVD did. I have a few early HD-DVDs and BRs that do it, but I have not seen a single disk in the last 4 years that has not defaulted to a menu.

I can remember watching TV when we only had 3 channels.....:o
Before channel 4 was launched...

Always found everything on channel 4 (& BBC2) is normally rubbish anyway

I only watch c4 out of the first 4 channels. I could easily live without BBC

Seeing as I literally only use my TV as a screen I don't get annoyed by much
I don't use the remote as they are terrible
I don't have the annoying default to free view with new remote
The fixed power cable is annoying!
Smart TV is annoying as a cost but unavoidable
Fact that it is really difficult to move TV about on your own!
That it isn't free? :-P

Nothing really annoys me day to day with setup I have
