Another 360 dies?

The thing is though mine wasn't really crammed into a tight space. It was on a stand with space all round it. When I said I moved it to somewhere better ventilated, I moved completely away from anything, but TBH it wasn't starved for air in it's original location.

I'm going to try the heatgun method, I've got nothing to lose............

My nephew has just been round, his is a very late build console and its started sucking the disk to the back of the console and has trashed his pro evo disc. He's on his way now to a game selling store to be fobbed off :(

Only a couple of people I know now still on the original.

FFS this is really getting beyond a joke with the amount of 360 dying, and people talking about taking them apart to repair them :(

Also it seems that all those still on their first console need to be touching wood, as they appear to be dropping like flies...

Let's hope the Elite model rectifies these issues, otherwise I can see a sizable userbase moving away from the 360 over the next year or so..

I can't believe that MS haven't come forward and put their hands up to this issue. With the amount going down they should be offering a minimum of 3 years from new IMO.

the 360's problem isnt temp's, position or ventilation. its a design floor in the way it all clamps together. if you pulled a 360 apart you will be able to see how the X clamp is slightly bending the motherboard which causes most of the issues.

only a redesign will solve it.

Arctic Silver 5 done the trick for my 360, at least for a week. Then 3 ROD. Heatgun method cured that problem and it has been running strong for over 4 months now :)

That's locking the gate when the horse has bolted, x-clamp mod is a prevention, not a cure :(

I think it is a cure if you heat gun it and reapply the arctic silver.
