I'm going to be installing a new hard drive tommorw and would like to know if my A8V deluxe can take 3gb per second (sata II) or should i have the new drive set to 1.5gb per second (sata I) only.
All hard disk sold nowdays are SATAII, but you can set them to SATA through software or a jumper (e.g. WD). So on the A8V Deluxe's you'll have to do this

Yes But on some HD's, like a WD I bought recently come set to SATAII. So you should set it to SATA otherwise drive might not work or system not boot-up
