So my truck/van/car/caravan thing (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17861501&highlight=felicia) has it's new sound installed but I am lacking a decent amp :(

these are the speakers I have

- Blapunkt Velocity components ( 13cm iirc)
-Lanzar MAX 8" subwoofer ( RMS not known)

there are no rear speakers, just 2 front and the sub.

Head unit is a JVC, it has RCA out and the normal ISO block.

I need an amp that will:
-be as compact as possible
-Run the front components(stereo)
- run the sub (mono)
- Budget = 'best bang for buck' If I can get sorted for around £150 that would be good. ( or am i way off the mark? )

is it possible to run a sub and compnents off one amp? am i looking for 2 channel, 3 channel, etc?

at the moment the components are wires to the headunit using the standard wires, and the sub is amp'd with the inputs from the RCA form the headunit.
Amp's putputs are bridged to make the sub mono.

3 channel mode: 2 x 104W RMS + 284W RMS for sub

Next :D

Edit, has been replaced with this apparently;

They are quite large though, I have one in my other halfs 206 and it takes up quite a bit of space. You might be better daisy chaining two 2 cheap 2 channel amps or if you go on an eBay sesh you might find a cheap mono and separate 2 channel amp.

Will two amps really be smaller that one for the same job?

*looks up some smaller amps*

I expect that he will be doing an under seat fitment in what is effectively a two seater. I don't think the 75.4 would fit under one seat alone.

Hi guys, thanks for the help!
So i take it it is a 4 channel amp i am looking for, the first 2 channels being used for the compnents, and the last 2 being bridged and used for the sub? ( this is the part i didn't understand in the first place)

It is indeed for a under seat instalation, so the smaller the better! 2 amps is not really possible unless they are very small and worth the money ( I already have quite a small amp (see my thread) but it is very old, battered and hard to adjust)

is there a reason for that JVC one in particular? it seems quite middle of the road ( like i asked for) but wqas it specificvaly shosen becuase it is known to be a sort of dark horse compared to the more expensive amps?

£109 is a great price, but i can spend up to around £150-£160 if it is really worth it.

thanks for the help chaps :)

Lastly, how are components wired up to the amp? I take it it is merly a case of headunit>amp> crossover>speaker & tweeter
or does the main driver connect to one part of the amp and the tweeter to another, leaving the crossover out alltogeather? ( sorry I R noob)

[Edit]

I suppose what I'm saying is, is it better to spend a little more on a lesser powered amp, say 75watt per channel @4ohm in 3 channel mode? than spend less money on a high powered blow your socks off amp? :) if that makes sense
for example:

thanks again for the help fellas!
