Currently a Learner on L plates waiting to do my test next year (DAS) Until then im sticking with a 125. However, i got a DT125 at the moment and whilst its fun im wanting something with a little more power! What are the Aprilla RS125s like? Anything else which you would suggest? Wouldnt mind something that done a ton (private track) :p

Legally the RS125 would have to be restricted to 14.6BHP anyway so it wouldnt be much faster than a DT :) but if the restrictions 'fall out' you'll have 25-30BHP and should show an indicated 100+MPH. It'll be a better bike to ride fast around twisty roads but due to it's tuned nature they are fragile and may turn into a endless money pit of rebuilds. now it's catch 22 because you dont wanna buy a new one because you'll loose loads of money.... I'm not keen on 2nd hand RS125's as it could literally blow up any second. So either buy one with the intention of rebuilding it or keep hunting around for one you're sure has been very well looked after (there will be tail tail signs)

I'd say stick with the DT125, save up as much as you can then you'll have more money to buy a better proper bike when you pass next year.

Keep your current bike, save the money and buy a decent bike when you've passed your test.

I personally can't see the point in buying a new 125 when you've already got one. It might be a bit faster but in the end it's still just a 125.
