Yes, i've bought one....but it's not exactly what you'd expect.

Not an E90, or an E46, or even an E36...nope an E30.

Behold my E30 320i track ****!

Fitted with standard M20 2.0 straight 6, OE anson exhaust, drilled airbox, Koni shocks + 35mm lowering springs.

Inside the rear has been stripped, fitted with a 4 point Fusion rear cage, front has 2 x Corbeau GTB recliners with OMP harness (2" passenger, 3" 4 point driver).

As an SE you get E/W, C/L, E/M, trip computer etc.

So far, i'm pretty impressed. Not massively quick, but carries speed through corners well, not too extreme for road but perfect for track.

Few little bits need sorting but not urgent, filter + oil, plugs, leads, radiator, coolant, brake fluid etc.

Expect to see it on the Nurburgring in August.

They attach to the rear seatbelt mounts on the rear, is that bad??

They have the seatbelt spools though don't they?

I think he means if it just bolts to the floor and has no play in it then it could hurt, or I'm completely wrong. :p

It's the angle of the harneses that's the problem. They are supposed to be mounted at a horizontal, or as close as possible.

With then mounted on the floor like that, huge downward forces are placed on the backs of the seats in an accident, and it can cause the seats to break, along with your spine.........

thanks for the pic, L. saves me typing up a load of stuff...wm5 is getting old. fast.

if it were mine, I'd ditch that half cage (it looks about 8" from the shell!), fit a proper cage and mount the harnesses within 10 deg. of horizontal.

nice though...needs a 35i conversion... ;)

Pricely sum of £700

Might look at getting a harness bar or similar for them, i'll double check the angles tonight and see what can be done.
