Another Case Recommendation Thread

Hello there,

I've got 3 cases on my shortlist the Lian Li PC-B10 and PC-B25FB or one of those new Fractal Design cases (I can wait till the new stock arrive :p). As you can see I'd prefer a quiet case. I've currently got an HD4870 and an E8400 both at stock speeds. I may overclock slightly but that's unlikely.

What's the best choice?

Antec's P18x would be classic but latest version really looks tasteless compared to these three cases.
That CPU is very easy to cool even if overclocked considerably and graphics card's cooler also does its job of kicking heat out so cooling won't be any problem.

Considering probable updates B10's HDD cage probably protrudes slightly too much backwards for fitting 5870 except into uppermost slots. (unlike in barely more expensive "big brother" A71) I can't remember was there something about that in Lian Li's forums.
B25FB again seems to have little more space in there and as overall is very similar to Fractal Design although lacks "plugs" for filling noise leaking holes on top.
Depending what kind devices you might have Fractal Design's door design isn't best without any space for anykind knobs of fan controllers and such.

I do have a fan controller at the moment, though I could just use the motherboard instead to slow down the fans. Also on my current case I can move the fan controller back so that the front doesn't protrude any further than my DVD drive. That does leave gaps though for a lot of dust to get in. If that was possible on the Fractal case, I assume the door would keep out a lot of the dust.
The P193 does look good. I didn't really give them a chance because a friend had the P182 and that thing was huge. I was leaning towards the B25FB but I may try the Fractal case as it's £50 cheaper.
 
Door doesn't do anything to dust, just to biggest hairs. You still need dust filters (and cleaning up of your room) regardless of it to keep PC clean.

ive just bought a Fractal Design case, think they look great :)

cant wait to build a system in it, and test it out :)
 
Haha, Geek. I don't think so! :D

I think I'm gonna get the Fractal Design case. Will a HD5870 fit in one of those? This review says it won't but the Fractal site says it will fit graphics cards with a length of 290mm.

I had decided on the Fractal R2. Then I saw the Zalman MS1000-HS2, has anybody heard anything about it? I've read one review and it looks pretty good. I think I might hold out for the Full Tower version of the R2 that I read they'll bring out but I just wanted to see how good that Zalman was.
 
The normal Lian Li B25 is a cross between the B10 and the B25FB which I would highly recommend. A 5870 fits perfectly as well. The only problem would be to source one.

The B10 is somewhat superior to the B25 being toolless and having a 140mm fan at the front.

My own B25(old model) has enough space for a 5870 and according to the Lian Li site, the B10 has 1.5-2cm more clearance for graphics cards.
