Hey guys,

Right...set of decent coilovers which will be for road and track use but want them to be electronically adjustable from inside the car...

Why? My driveway :(

When I had the splitter on the car if I didn't go snails pace the car would scuff it getting on and off....so if I lowered the car I'd be screwed :(

Basically what I want is when I come home in the evening is to be able to make the car higher without getting out and adjusting each one.

A) Is this possible
B) How ludicrously expensive is it likely to be?

Ta :D

EDIT: Otherwise I'd go for a set of Gaz or Koni's or something..

Tein offer coilovers that adjust damping force, but perch/ride height? I doubt it.

Search Tein EDFC however Im unsure if you'll be able to 'officially' get them. civic coilovers might fit as a guess...

Cheers, I'll take a look. I would think Civic ones could fit as my castor adjusters are for a Civic TypeR

park on the road?

My road is quite thin, and although quiet you do get chavs speeding up and down it, so I'd rather keep my wing mirrors thanks!

Why? Surely you should buy a straight one before considering handling upgrades.

The car is straight, get your facts right first eh? ;)

Just... don't bother ?!

My car handles well as standard, but I've been in one on a decent set of coileys and it really transforms the car :D

Put it on bags.

Oh and your driveway is simples, don't drive like a tard and it'll be fine. And the ZS doesn't need lowering...just selling. :p

No Rob seriously, when I had the front splitter on if I didn't go REALLY slowly, (and I mean slower than you) it would scuff. If the whole car was that low I actually wouldn't be able to get on the driveway.

Phate out of interest how would you expect such a system to work?

Witchcraft and a trip to ollivanders? :p

I honestly have no idea, was wondering if its possible on a fancy set of coilovers really :D - As I need to have it if I want to go for a coilover route. I could get ramps for the driveway, but they'd only get nicked!

Rubbish, it's as bent as Graham Norton. :D

Thats why it got picked up from the bodyshop today after being jigged without a single bad panel gap and its going to get its 4 wheel alignment done tomorrow, which can now be done because its straight. \o/

The term 'wooohoo' comes to mind :D

His driveway is fine, my BMW (granted not lowered) got up it fine at many speeds, as does another member's MK2 ZS which isn't exactly high.

I think he just needs to take it slower/reverse up it.

Rob, no offense mate, but if you lived here and drove my car up it I'd let you say what you want. But simple fact is you don't :p

My car clears the driveway by about an inch, coileys will cause scraping!

It's a saloon car not a Lotus Elise. If fitting silly suspension means it wont even get up your driveway you cross the border into the world of chav. What next, 5 subs in the boot?

Lowering springs that do nothing but improve asthetics and stop you from getting on your driveway I would agree is silly (Oddly enough like my brothers RAPID RUDE RIDES FOCUS Y0!!!) (Which by the way does scrape, and badly everytime he leaves/enters the driveway now. But a set of decent coilovers?...err...no...

What will you do when you find a speed ramp, turn around and go back?

Close my eyes and pray to god, obviously.

If people think I want coilovers for ride height they are mistaken.

I want to improve the handling for track use, coilovers is my first step. Afterwards its civic braces and a set of lightweight wheels with R888's

And a zed does look fapping awesome when lowered :D

Thats standard, and this is one on just lowering springs

With respect I'm sure the handling is fine and your just not driving the car properly. You can spend thousands getting tenths trying to make it drive the way you want it to, or hundreds getting seconds and learning how to drive properly.

I know full well I'm no Lewis Hamilton :p

The handling on the road is more than adequate, but its track use I'm interested in. I know tuition will help a lot which is what I plan to get but I still would like coilovers as they WILL improve the handling ability of the car.

Ditto.

Properly does not equal foot to the floor everywhere thinking those looks you get are admiring glances rather than people thinking '****'.

Why you think I drive like that 100% of the time I do not know. You seem to base my overall driving style from meets, which and I quote many people say "we all ready for the next hoon then?" - If I drove like that all the time I'd be dead, simply put :)

It's not really acceptable to drive like that at any time, let alone meets where if you had a fatal accident you could get others into trouble.

That ridiculous stunt you pulled through that village with the 20mph zone in it at the Hampshire meet in March had more than a few people concerned of being seen to be 'with' you.

It was a 30, and I'm not proud of that and admit I was driving like a complete and utter tool.

I couldn't careless if people don't want to be seen 'with' me or not, especially people who are 'from the internetz' - I'm not insecure enough to be worried about it. But the fact that people were bitching saying "zomg he did an overtake on a double white line" everyone failed to mention the other 2 cars that A) did the same, B) it was dead straight, nothing coming the other way and it was perfectly safe, considering I was overtaking something going considerably lower than the limit. Don't get me wrong, If I drive like a tool people can say it to my face and I'll admit it and apologise for it, but these people should get both sides of the story first, and say it to my face as well :)
