Another EA Origin Ban

Ok so here`s my story….
EA have banned my access to all my games on origin, why? Your guess is as good as mines.
Few months ago my son got banned from Xbox for using HACKED PRO on fifa, now naturally like most parents and their kids on consoles; you are the credit card holder and main account holder. So I had his Xbox account linked to my pc EA account due billing reasons. Well when he was banned (and notes I am agreeing with original ban from EA for the hacking).

This is where the first problem came about, EA Banned his gamer tag from there servers due to his hacking, this then had a knock on effect to my PC account and banned my own access to my PC games. Now imagine to my horror when you try to login to Origin to play the games you have purchased and some titles owned for many years and told, sorry your banned you no longer have access to what you bought.????.

Now I contacted Fifa Studios and there community manager EA_Yasha, I explained the situation and they quickly resolved the matter and understood the situation, now I was pleased how EA_Yasha helped me. They explained to me what they were going to do, and transferred my sons banned XBOX persona over to another email account so my main account wouldn’t be banned from my origin use.

Now this happened months ago and I’ve been able to game since then, my son sold his Xbox and the banned persona remains on the other email account, and as I requested I wanted it left banned to teach my son a lesson.

Now on Friday 13th (of all the days) I’m playing battlefield 3 on origin with my friends and I run into a disagreement with the admin on the server, it does happen with most folk believe me. Well I cursed 4 times at the admin (yeah ok I should have kept my calm) but others seen the conversation I was having, anyway this resulted in myself being banned from that server without warning, just BANNED.

So I think ok that’s that server off my list as I no longer have access. So I come away from it and go to work that evening. I return on Saturday morning to be greeted that my ea account is banned for inappropriate behaviour WTF???? I have no longer access to any of my games on origin at all.

I contacted EA live chat to inform them of the situation and after many same answers of the “we need to take this to another level; we can’t remove bans from users accounts”. Now what’s point in this customer service if its pass the buck so to say. So I’m sitting here getting even angrier at this situation!! I decide I want to speak to them personally, so I ring up EA UK support and get some crazy call centre.

That information they have on my account for ban is from FIFA STUDIOS and the VP hack that my son did on Xbox, now I once again told them, hang on this was sorted with EA_Yasha and told them to check the other ea email account with the transferred banned persona, and they confirm this. SO I ask there is no banned personas on my current ea account so why am I banned? They tell me I need to speak to a games advisor, so I wait, here comes game advisor? Have I cleared my cache? wtf!!!

Anyway so conversation goes on and he also agrees he can’t find anything out with that XBOX fifa ban on my account and says that the banned reason should have been removed from my current account as the banned persona is no longer active or tied in with current account. I’m told to wait and ill receive a call from someone “level up” who has access to unban me.

This call never comes. So still day 3 no access to my games, I work hard, I purchase my games, I like to chill, sorry you can’t, no access to your games.
I ring up ea support and get advisor called James, now this guy was very helpful and I respect him for listening, understanding and attempting to fix the situation.

He gave me more information on my account, informed me that it’s under investigation but the right people who I want to be looking at it are looking at it and he believes the ban is wrong “yes EA advisor believes the ban is wrong” and also suggests of an admin on a power trip.

WE both agree during conversation that Origin policy on bans and game access is very wrong in its current state. James tells me my account has been flagged on that Friday (bf3 argument) but there’s no reason on my account for the ban.

James tells me to hang tight for a few days and he expects the ban to be lifted, he apologises to me for situation but also stresses that he’s powerless as well to remove bans as needs to come from the mythical “LEVEL UP” advisors.

Now it’s the 18th and I’m still banned with no access to my games at all. I check my ticket status with EA Support and still open but no further notes? Now how long seriously does this take to sort out?

I don’t like this Origin software or agreement at all, the fact that a power hungry admin has brought this on. EA can argue about the FIFA hack but that was dealt with via FIFA Studios and Community Manager at the time and addressed resulting in PERM BAN on banned Persona, and Xbox sold.

I tried to contact EA_Yasha via forums but not been successful. I get the impress moderators and developers have since moved on to new projects and don’t offer much support for other games.

Now back to James, the good EA advisor, after the conversation I receive an email from James, basically thanking me for my time and understanding… pushing it really are… and they offer me a discount code on future purchases.. Ok so that’s nice but I can’t redeem it… why? Because I’m banned.

Very good move EA.

So now I’m waiting on and hoping EA remove this ban so I can get my access to games I paid for and played many hours on. I was part of BF3 Beta t testing team and also on the Battlefield Veteran program yet I’m treated like this? Where is customer loyalty and why does the support need to be so bad.
So no games for me at the moment and I’ve been left with really bitter taste by EA over all this.

If I cheat at CSS, I'd expect Valve to ban me from TF2. If a relative of mine cheated on an account linked to me, I'd be unsurprised at being banned.

Hard luck. Teach your son that cheating is wrong and dock his pocket money until he's bought you replacement copies.

To be honest, the fact that you went back and added in line breaks to the massive headache-inducing wall of text has changed my opinion from "sucks to be you" to "give this man a medal (and his account back)".

My son was punished believe me lol. But this was sorted out by EA months ago. This other admin on bf3 has caused this issue. They should not have power to do this.

Doesn't look like you've read it all.

Just more fuel to the fire that you don't own your games.

And this is why i highly support piracy for anything EA/ORIGIN related especially what is going on with legit customers!.

This is also what happens with EA

Guy gets in an argument on Bf3 forums or makes a stand against a patch, he gets banned and all access to his online games stopped...

Or

Guy cheats and hackers on loads of servers while even taking DICE/EA tags, he gets a stat wipe and sometimes another key.

Love EA/Dice

I dont know but other ocuk users where in the current game and seen my argument, they seen the ban come up, and then suddenly i have no access to my account ? bit suss eh! considering once i sorted out the banned persona, i had access to my games for months, then 1 argument and im banned.

This ^^^^

Price you pay for hacking, even if it was not you, it was linked to your account. I am glad to know EA/Origin are doing this. You should not be allowed your account back full stop and this should make you teach your child to never do it again. Then as said above use his/hers pocket money to replace all your games. I drummed it into my son many moons ago the dangers of cheating/hacking online, more parents should follow suit.

BF3 thing was wrong but you should not have had your account back in the first place.

Read the whole post guys, sounds like you only read the first few lines.

Edit: Bit in bold, wtf? They sorted the whole hacking scenario out and now you're basically saying this is karma to an extent.

Just because your "son's" account got moved, doesn't mean there won't be a mark on your account for suspect cheating.

Adding to that the inappropriate language during a BF3 game, and you wonder why you are banned? You're lucky you got a second chance.

+1

Wait - so if i rent a BF3 server, suddenly i have the power to get peoples accounts banned?

You can report anyone you want, regardless of your player status, but I suppose when you have server logs that are connected to an EA server to back you up it becomes much easier.

Lol, people's opinions would soon change if such things happened to themselves.
So flipping narrow minded it's stupid.

But I don't let anyone cheat on my account.

I have, EA banned his sons tag for hacking on fifa, they then banned his EA account as his sons accound was linked. He got it back, but had an issue on a BF3 server and got banned again. I think my post above makes sense.

My point is, after the first hacking offense on the linked account he should not have had his account back full stop, nevermind the BF3 stuff.

So you need to re-read it seems ;)

Your analogy in that is completely ridiculous. They sorted the whole hacking scenario out and now you're basically saying this is karma to an extent.

Exactly, after the first hacking offense the account should have remained banned. It should never have been unbanned.

it does seem crazy that some unknown playing as admin can get a whole account banned. maybe if you were being abussive ban from BF3 servers for a short time to teach you to control your temper. but ban from everything, now thats just wrong. also, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? surely your account should only be ban after the investigation, not during. like i said temporary suspension on game in question maybe, but not a sweeping ban.

That banned persona was moved to the other EA ACCOUNT which remains banned. And im happy with this as was sons XBOX persona .I never disputed the original ban for my son. It was justified.
