Another help me choose thread

Then you have two reasonable upgrade pathways in the future:

1) Go for a single GTX570 now. When 28nm cards are released, sell the GTX570 and upgrade to 28nm.

2) Go for a single 6950 2GB now and you can add another 6950 2GB whenever you want.

I do not recommend putting a pair of GTX570s into SLI unless it's the 2.5GB version.

 if needed you can use two 570s at resolutions up to 1920x1200 without having to get a higher vram model, but you would be best getting a 570 then upgrading when kepler comes out

Lies. How would you be able to max out games like Shogun 2 or GTA4 under 1200p with GTX570 1.25GB SLI without hacking the games?

read the parts about it in the other thread

Oh come on. Again?!!!

We really don't need another 10 page thread when you soundly lost the last argument (or completely failed to win at least!)

That thread is an entertainment thread, not for technical discussion. Are you going to answer my question here or not? How would you be able to max out games like Shogun 2 or GTA4 at 1200p with GTX570 1.25GB SLI without hacking the games? Why don't you just stay away from the tiny vram size and avoid such problems if you want a dual-card setup to crank up the AA settings?

at least post this in the other thread, so this one doesn't become like the other one?

As much as I find all this hilarious (I lurk a lot,) he has a point about GTA (and maybe Shogun 2, I've never touched that game so I wouldn't know.) Just because you don't like him bringing up the same points repeatedly, doesn't mean he can't.

It's best if the people who seek assistance about buying a graphics card know these details, in my opinion.

I agree though about the lag spike graph he kept throwing around.. Was pretty funny.

Why post it into that entertainment thread if I'm making a reasonable suggestion to the OP here to avoid getting into troubles of being unable to max out games like Shogun 2, GTA4 or future games?

I actually said this which was suggesting to get one card, then upgrade to the newer ones when they come out not to sli!

Im probably not going to upgrade my monitor for a while, its currently a 1920x1080. So I could get away with the GTX?

To make it simple, each one of the following three is a good option:

a) A single GTX570
b) A single 6950 2GB
c) A pair of 6950 2GB in CF

The following solution is a bad option:

d) A pair of GTX570 1.25GB in SLI

To disagree that option d) is a bad option, tell me how to max out Shogun 2 or GTA4 at 1200p without hacking the games.
