another Help me thread

tut tut. Im not going to be racing it on the roads, just on the drap strips around lovely England and when I come across some other car like a GTI-6 I might have a better chance

Its not a stupid idea, its something to do. Plus I will see how much quicker it is compared to a standard one.

Even if you could get it to 800kg it would still be

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 105
Weight without Driver (KG) : 800
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 133.36

Surprising no one is that.;)

OK serious response time before I start facedesking.

You obviously enjoy your Yaris and thats fine - if you like it then keep it and forget this daft idea of VTEC v TDI. If you want something new, better, faster, bigger, whatever then you should have a serious think about what you want and your behaviour on our roads.

Here's the big news though - nobody else on the roads cares about your car. You could have a Yaris with the V10 from an M5 in the boot and 99% of the public will still think you're a plank in a Yaris. So buy the car that you like and drive it like a sensible human being and not a hyperactive 15 year old.

There are plenty cars out there with low down torque and a rev happy nature, but you need to really think about your priorities - as stripping down a Yaris and running another car is about as daft as keeping a rover saloon as your weekend car

Ahh but they weighs more and according to what Ive been told it does 0-62 in 7.5 secs and my car standard does it in 8.7 secs. So with the less weight I should be able to hopefully get it around the same sort of time as the GTI

OK no more stupid replys now. I am serious about doing a supercharger though if I get the money for it.

I think everyone was like this with their first car though. I was convinced that my 1.25 Fiesta could practically set the tarmac on fire if I tried hard enough.

Get a ride in something properly quick, and I'm not talking some old Peugeot GTI. Realise that you have, in fact, got a shopping car. Nothing more, nothing less. It's reliable, cheap to run and that's about it. Then go and buy something mildly interesting when insurance comes down in price a bit.

Why would anyone line up and try to race a Yaris? Where do you drive where every junction is another drag race?

That's what I was trying to get at a few posts back - he's obviously living in some diluded world where everyone is trying to prove their manhood at every opportunity

I had a new-shape 1.4 petrol Fiesta as a courtesy car a few days ago. Every junction WAS like a drag race just to keep up with the general traffic flow!

Face. Hit. Desk.

Are you on crack, really though?

A Toyota Yaris, is a small hatchback used by grannies and younger people who want something cheap to insure. That is it, its FACT.

Much like a corsa, but some people seem to get engrossed into these.

If you want a new (to yourself) then get one, don't keep your Yaris it is not worth the expense. Get something you will enjoy, you don't do many miles so I can't see fuel being an issue.

You also have to decide what you like about driving if you enjoy driving and I mean hitting some twisties now and then, well a diesel aint for you. They are designed to save on fuel bills and cruise motorways.

Decide what you want out of the new car, your driving style and what kind of driving you are doing. Then come back.
