I know I've posted before and I'm on the lookout again. Found this in a local shop for about £250 with mudguards thrown in.

All I want it for is some local plonking around, ride along the sea front, bit of exercise in nice weather sort of thing.

It's got a bouncy saddle!

Any good or is it going to be pants?

None of the above! I just want something suitable to plonk around on, no commuting just a bit of fair weather riding to enjoy the countryside and get my fitness up a bit. I doesn't have to have suspension and a plush seat or flat bars - That's just a bike I saw at the local shop so I'm open to suggestions.

Oh that's actually quite a good shout - I was looking at that model a couple of months ago after someone at work got the same one. It's fifty quid cheaper now as well which is a bonus.

All ordered, bike, lights, helmet, mudguards, pump, lock, bottle (and holder) and a little toolkit for £370. C2W scheme so it's actually going to work out as much less!

This is Halfords we're talking about, they may charge me for the replacements so I'd need to add the value into the voucher I'm about to order. If they don't charge me then I can just use the excess for any other bits so it's not a problem. But I really have no idea what I'm looking at which is why I asked for specifics (ie links so I can see the price). Not trying to be pushy but my mouse is hovering over the order button!

Frustratingly, it's going to be three weeks until I can get it. The voucher system won't even process the order until the first of the month and then I have to get the paperwork through, sign it and return it before they'll issue the actual voucher. I want it NOW!

They've already told me they'll honour the price so it won't go up. At the end of the year, the agreement is extended by another four years at no cost and then there's nothing to pay. Yes, it's worth waiting.

I actually dreamed about my new bike last night, even though I've not got it yet. This has just dragged on but at least it should all start being actioned for me to get my C2W voucher tomorrow.

I did!
It was only twenty minutes before sunset by the time I got home so I went out for a quick ride. I didn't remember to start Strava until I was at the green dot on the map so the first part isn't recorded. I did a couple of loops around and then back so wasn't out for long.

Hopefully I'll get home a bit earlier tomorrow and will go a little further. I was going to pick up a Garmin 25 using part of the excess cash I had on the voucher but they won't allow any GPS gear on C2W so I ended up with a pair of gloves and a spare inner tube as well.

The guy who served me yesterday was dreadful. Really not very interested in anything, totally different to the chap who I saw the first time. I asked if he could put it down as something else and from the look on his face, you'd think I'd have asked him to perform an unnatural act on a dung beetle.

That one looks interesting but out of stock. How does it measure distance?
