I have yet to buy my case or motherboard for my HTPC build.
I originally planned to go MATX, but having been through various options it looks like the case is going to have to sit in a cupboard (max dims, width 260mm, height 360mm, depth 385mm)
So I now have been thinking of going ITX to make finding a case easier.
Current "stock" of components
I7 950 (1366) or I3 2120 (1155)
3 x 2GB DDR3 or 2 x 4GB DDR3
128GB Samsung 830
Akasa 500w PSU (might be 600w need to check this)
HD5450(low profile) or GTX460
MOtherboard is to be purchased as currently both of these systems are running on MATX boards.
My understanding is that there never was an ITX motherboard for the 1366 platform, so that rules that one out as an option.
Main use of the box will be HTPC (watching films via XBMC) but if I can squeeze the 460 in there it could be used as a gaming build for the plasma in the front room. if squeezing the 460 in there is pushing it too much I will probably just use the onboard gfx from the motherboard.
Have been considering a Q07 but having never built an ITX based machine before don't actually know that much about them, neither do I have an extensive knowledge of the boards and cases. So I don't really know what to avoid board or case wise.
right enough rambling, over to you guys.
