Well, I don't seem to be having much luck with these Linksys WRT54GS routers.
My first one lasted 6 months before being the victim of a lightening strike, luckily it was within its first 12 months and I managed to wrangle an exchange.
Last night however, I think my replacement died and 13 months old I will have to buy a new one.
I was playing DOD:s on steam and kept getting disconnected....then it went altogether.
I separated the link from the cable modem to the router and pluged the modem straight into the PC and to start off with that didn't work, but after a few reboots and 10 minutes with Virgin Tech support, I got back on line. I pluged the router in and no connection, so I assume its dead (although it lights up and seems to be ok)
Is there anything I can try before I buy a new router ?
Any hard resets should I try or a software re-install ??
Should I get the same or have things moved on since ? Best replacement ?
I am on Virgin 20mb cable broadband and I game....a lot !
Help appreciated.
