Another New Build!

Hi Everyone,
I asked for some advice a couple of years ago for advice on a new build but then came Covid & Miners!
Hence to say it got shelved until now so I'm looking to build or buy a gaming pc for about 2.5K.
I'm aware there's some deals to be has on GPU's at the moment so I've been looking at the 3080 12gb from either Evga, MSI or Asus and I definitely want to go down the AM5 route!
I'm also quite keen on the NR200P or Max as a case but also have a soft spot on the Phanteks Evolv X!
To say I'm in a quandary would be an understatement so any advice you can give would be very welcome.
By the way I'm not very computer savvy but do enjoy playing FPS style games!

You're probably right about looking at the new GPU's but I guess it all depends on just how expensive they are.
I think everyone would want that crystal ball right now!

Like yourself I've been following all the headlines and I've been waiting for so long I'm desperate to get one, I think it's a case of the heart ruling the head!

Ok I've seen some of the reviews of the latest AM5 CPU's and from what I can tell they run super hot and not all that great for gaming either!
This leaves me thinking should I go down the 5800X3D which seems to be the best option other than going Intel which again is power hungry so I'm now a bit bewildered now as to what will be the best move!
Bearing in mind I don't have a rig at the moment should I wait the the 7800X3D due probably January 23 or take the plunge now?
